Dorothy Richter, P.G., President and Owner, leads Hager-Richter.  She assures that both clients and staff are afforded the opportunity to experience excellence in geophysics.

Dorothy Richter, P.G., President, founding principal and the Owner of the firm, has over 35 years professional experience in geology and geophysics.  Her professional experience includes positions as Staff Research Geologist at MIT, as Chief Geologist for an international quarrying company, and, since 1984, as the leading principal of Hager-Richter.  She is a licensed Professional Geologist in seven states (NH, NY, PA, NC, KY, IL, and MN), a Certified Professional Geologist of the AIPG, and was a member of the New Hampshire Board of Professional Geologists for ten years.

Gene Simmons, Ph.D., P.G., Vice President, is an internationally recognized expertGS - Jan2015 at Langan Party - cropped in Geophysics.  He was Professor of Geophysics for 24 years and is currently Professor Emeritus at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).  Dr. Simmons also was Chief Scientist at NASA’s Manned Spacecraft Center (now Johnson Space Center) in Houston during the Apollo missions to the Moon.  Dr. Simmons is licensed as a Professional Geologist in New Hampshire, New York, and Kentucky.

Jeffrey Reid P.G., Vice President & Senior Geophysicist based in our Salem, New Hampshire headquarters, has directly participated in all aspects of Hager-Richter’s engineering geology and geophysical projects since he joined the firm in 1987.  He has led geophysical surveys at sites across the US and abroad.  Mr. Reid has a B.S. in Geology from Hartwick College.  He is a Professional Geologist licensed in New Hampshire, New York, and Wyoming.

Robert Garfield, P.G., Vice President & Senior Borehole Geophysicist based in our New York/New Jersey Regional Office in Fords, New Jersey, has a B.S. in Geology from Bucknell University.   Mr. Garfield joined Hager-Richter in 2003.  Mr. Garfield has been the lead geophysicist for high resolution borehole geophysical surveys for critical structures and sites across the US and Puerto Rico and is widely respected for his meticulous attention to detail. He is a Professional Geoscientist licensed in New York and Louisiana.
